Vacancy Job Title; Support Worker

Vacancy Location; Newcastle (Fawdon NE3)

Salary / Rate of Pay; £10.42 per hour (salary increasing to £11.44 April 2024)

Contract type; Zero Hour (Bank)

Number of hours available in total; Approximately 12 hours a week. 6:30pm – 11pm Friday and 5:30-11pm Saturday.

Shift pattern(s) available; 6:30pm – 11pm Friday and 5:30-11pm Saturday.   If you are able to commit to one full weekend or one day from the weekend a month or more, we would love to hear from you.

Essential Criteria;  In order to be considered for this role you must hold a full UK driving license, have access to your own vehicle or be comfortable to drive the client’s car to venues during the session.

Role Requirements; An opportunity to support a gentleman in accessing the local community. The gentleman is very socialable and loves to get out and about. The sessions will involve supporting him to attend local events, such as going to watch live music in local pubs and having a dance. Other activities he enjoys includes bowling, arcades and arts and crafts.

The gentleman has a moderate learning disability due to an acquired brain injury.  Sessions are on a weekly basis every, Friday and Saturday evening. The shifts will be on a two to one basis meaning you will be working with another member of staff.

He is looking for a support worker who enjoys having fun and joining in with him in the different events and who has a good sense of humour. This is a perfect position for you if you want to make a real difference in a person’s life, have an interest in psychology, and want to gain practical experience or as a second income role.
