Support Worker – Killingworth (NE12) – Part Time hours only (8 per week)

Salary / Rate of Pay; £10.42 (Increasing to £11.44 in April)

Contract type; Zero Hour (Bank)

Number of hours available in total; 8 hours a week total; 4pm-7pm on a Tuesday and, 10am-3pm Saturday (flexibility is required on this day as these hours may differ slightly).

Shift pattern(s) available; Tuesday – 4pm-7pm and Saturday daytimes (estimated 10am-3pm)

Essential Criteria; Female only and a Driver essential

Role Requirements; We are seeking an outgoing, friendly and dedicated individual to support a 13-year-old girl. The young lady enjoys attending different activities and is looking for someone to support her in attending youth groups and The Tim Lamb centre. The young lady has lots of ideas around what she likes and, what she would like to do, however can sometimes become anxious about trying new things. The goal of these sessions is to empower her to engage in these activities and support her in trying new activities and hobbies.

The young lady has Prader Willi Syndrome, a learning disability and anxiety. Due to this consistency and reliability are paramount to this role. Prior to starting with the young lady, you will have an opportunity to meet with her and her mum to get to know each other.

It is essential that you hold a valid driver’s license and willing to use your car for work purposes.

This opportunity is well-suited for university students familiar with the specified disability seeking practical experience or individuals looking to supplement their hours with meaningful work
